In the AEC industry, bids are required to win jobs. Lots of time is spent preparing them, and many of them are rejected. How many more jobs could you win if you had a faster and more accurate way to get bids out the door?

In this How-To blog, we will look at Revu’s built-in measurement tools allows estimators to expedite their takeoff process, even seamlessly export that information to excel!

So how can we easily link cell on Excel to measurement data on documents in Bluebeam Revu?

 Quantity Link

The Quantity Link tool helps create accurate bid calculations and improve quantity takeoffs by transferring measurement totals from a local PDF to an Excel spreadsheet in real-time. Since a PDF may contain multiple types of measurement totals, you can use filters to transfer the totals you need and create detailed estimates much faster.

  • To start, you may want to create a template or layout for working with your measurement data, like below:Excel Template
  • Next, you may select a cell you would like to link your measurement data to and create quantity link from there Select a cell

  • From there, you can keep adding your measurement data in Revu to your Excel Template.

The right Excel template will help you automatically generate the data you want using predefined Excel formulas, such as cost.

So, what make this powerful?

There is an option for you to add, remove or swap out Revu files that Excel is pulling data from. This is particularly useful if you consistently use the same tool-set on all your documents.

With this function, you can easily generate different bids using your existing Excel template and by swapping out different Revu documents.
